 Ground Breaking  

Dr. Issa Benissa has opened his practice.

He had a full roster almost right away. We are seeking at least two additional family physicians to work with Dr Benissa. As soon as we obtain new doctors,we will announce it. Let us know if you are aware of any new doctors seeking a practice site.

Official Opening

The Official Opening on September 21 at the Don Bumstead & Family Medical Centre was a great success. Over 400 people attended, toured the building, met the staff and watched the unveiling of a large rock and plaque marking the site of a fifty year time capsule and the ribbon cutting.

Bob Milne in Concert On Sept 20, 2014

Almost 200 people attended this fund raiser for the medical centres and joined the rest of the world in agreeing that Bob Milne is the best ragtime/boogie-woogie pianist in the world.   Declared a “National Treasure” by the US Library of Congress, Bob has been playing in concert halls worldwide since 1991. He delights audiences with his piano-playing pyrotechnics and his infectious enthusiasm for the music and the history behind the music.  Founder and director of the Frankenmuth Ragtime Festival in Michigan USA, Bob has appeared at many music festivals including The Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival and the Montreal Jazz Festival.  BOB’S PERFORMANCES ARE “UNBELIEVABLE” and many of the auience left hoping that Bob will come back to Meaford in the future.

August 21 Scotiabank BBQ

Over $785 was raised at the Scotiabank BBQ on August 21. All proceeds to the new medical centre. Sponsored by our local Scotiabank branch which matched $5,000 in pubic donations with a generous cheque to support the centre. Many thanks to the local branch manager and staff who put so much into the campaign.

Early Bird Draw Winner

Bonnie Holden had her name drawn at the Doctors 4 Meaford Early Bird Draw on June 3. Congratulations to Bonnie and her guest as she enjoys a first class dining experience at Haisai, Michael Stadtlander's iconic restaurant in Singhampton.   

Medical Centre Golf Tournament Sunday, June 15

Special thanks to MARY & IVAN ALDERICE for organizing the tournament. More than 50 golfers played, had a great dinner and took  part in the silent auction. Great prizes. $4,000 raised for the new Don Bumstead & Family Medical Centre.

Community Game Day

Took place on Sunday, April 6   1 to 4 pm At Meaford Golf Course

It was a great success with more than 90 players in a fun competition in Bridge, Euchre and Cribbage to benefit the  Don Bumstead and Family Medical Centre.

More than $1200 was raised in tthe event. Players have asked for more such events.    Thanks to Jan Chappelle and her committee of volunteers.

Tai Chi for the Medical Centre

 More than 100 people participated on April 7 in an afternoon session of information and interaction focused on the health benefits of the art of Taoist Tai Chi led By Dr. Bruce McFarlane at the Meaford Community Centre. More than $2600 was raised for the medical centre. Marie McKay is to be congratulated for organizing this great event.

English Tea and Print Sale

Volunteers in black and white with fascinators served a fine high English Tea to a sold out crowd at Meaford Hall on March 15 with food and goodies donated by Bill's Valu Mart. As well, there was a successful silent auction of Canadian Wildlife art prints including several by our own Grey County artist George Maclean. Congratulations for another great fundraiser to Terry and Lee Watt.
